I'm Aswathy Gopalakrishnan, but people call me Ash! I'm a recent masters graduate from the University of Maryland, College Park with a degree in Human-Computer Interaction. I have an undergraduate degree in Computer Science, however I made the switch realizing my passion lies with design. I have a good eye for converting user needs into opportunities, and I bring them to life through simple and engaging products. I've learnt that it's is very important to listen to your users, and I want to contribute to applications in ways that are indicative of that in the real world moving forward.

It's safe to say I'm a big people person, and I immensely enjoy being in the company of my family, friends and coworkers. I found my little happy place at my part-time job working as a Team Lead at Classroom Support while still at UMD. After moving to the United States in August of 2021, they've been my family away from home and I hope to keeping building strong connections like these with more people wherever life takes me!
In my free time, you can find me with my Rubik's cube or with my ukulele singing songs, or out on a hike when it's warm out!

One of my biggest interests is in photography, and I love to document everything I see around me in a picture wherever I go. We tend to overlook the small things that make life a little better, and photography is a great way to save the moment!
